In order to showcase my skills, I created an on-line resume with links to more information about various aspects of my resume. Below is a link to my resume:

Excellent job on your resume, I especially liked the way that you annotated it!

Anna,
ReplyDeleteWow! You did such a good job at this. Your resume is very professional and easy to navigate through. It shows off your personality and your professionalism. The links worked well and it was nice to see examples of where you worked. Also, it was nice to see some examples of your skills as well. I think you had a nice clean resume that was straight to the point, but not boring. One thing that did slightly confuse me was having two links: skills and resume. It made me wonder if you really needed a separate "skills" page navigating away from the resume. You could keep your attachments under the attachment tab to keep everything super organized. This is just a suggestion and I'm being super picky too. Otherwise, it's great!
Anna,
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I browsed through several blogs, including yours, to see how different people completed the assignment for week 9 when I was working on that. I am taking another course which will require me to develop an on-line resume. And honestly, I was stuck with the old idea of a traditional resume that could be accessed on line. But what you have here is SO MUCH MORE! Thank you for opening my mind to these new possibilities. I especially like how you were able to incorporate the certificates and other documents as links from your resume without compromising the effectiveness of the resume itself. Brilliant!
I think your knowledge and skill sets are exceptionally well tailored to your career goal. I am drawn to education too. I agree with your assessment that science is one of those subjects that truly benefits from hands-on learning. I think your vision of linking your love of animals, science and education through work with an organization like the Phoenix Zoo is a marvelous match-up. I love science and teaching, but animals…not so much. As a teacher, I would rely on a person with your skills and knowledge to bridge that gap. Thankfully, you’ll be there!
Before I read your resume, I was wondering how much detail you would give to each area of importance (education, science, children, animals) and how you would demonstrate that to a reader. I think you have done a really great job on your resume. Since you are obviously tech-savvy, I suggest that you might develop a video to link to your resume, like you did with the other additions. This could show how you interact with children and animals in a real-life setting.

Hi Anna,
ReplyDeleteWow! Great job on your resume! I liked that way that I could click on a link and get a good idea of what you did at that particular job. I thought your resume was easy to read and follow. I liked the lay out. As far as your vast experience with animals, I believe that knowledge will help you relate to children in the classroom. I know that the Phoenix Zoo has a program where wild animals, especially endangered species, are brought to schools for a kind of "show and tell". I have observed in a classroom where that happened and the kids were so excited and learning so much. Your interests in science, education, and animals is a good combination. Good luck to you in the future.
